About Dr. Azzam
It is a profound honor to support individuals healing from trauma, navigating anxiety, or reclaiming their identity. My approach centers on exploring the attachments and beliefs that may be holding you back, allowing you to let go and grow. Whether you are recovering from a codependent relationship or seeking to feel like yourself again after trauma, I believe you deserve a life defined by love and acceptance.
You have choices, and you don’t have to walk this path alone.

My Path and Approach
Kintsugi bowl:
a powerful symbol for trauma work. It represents the idea that something can be broken and then repaired with "gold," making the finished piece more beautiful and resilient for having been broken.
My training, specialization, and passion are dedicated to the transformative work of fostering resilience in the aftermath of trauma. I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist based in Houston, TX, and earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. My research and community work have long focused on promoting self-compassion and self-efficacy across diverse socioeconomic populations.
I completed an APA-accredited internship in Forensic Psychology with the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health, followed by a specialized post-doctoral fellowship focused on the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and complex trauma.
My commitment to this work began long before my doctoral training, rooted in my own journey of understanding and healing. Before transitioning into private practice, I spent the majority of my career serving in high-acuity settings, including The Menninger Clinic and the county jail system, specializing in the treatment of trauma, psychosis, and co-occurring disorders. These experiences, alongside my current work conducting forensic evaluations for the courts, have deeply strengthened my belief in the human capacity for growth even in the most challenging environments.
I truly cherish the brave and collaborative process of therapy.
