Coming Back to Therapy: There’s No Shame in Starting Again

Sometimes we take a break from therapy—life gets busy, we feel okay for a while, or we simply need space. And then, without warning, something stirs inside: old wounds reawaken, patterns return, emotions rise. You might hear a quiet voice within say, “I need help again.”

That voice? That’s your inner child reaching out. And there's absolutely no shame in listening.

Returning to therapy isn’t a step backward—it’s an act of self-love. It’s your adult self recognizing that something inside still needs care, safety, and presence. Maybe new layers are ready to be seen. Maybe a part of you, long silent, is ready to speak.

Healing is not a straight line. It's a spiral—each time you return, you do so with more insight, more capacity, and more compassion for yourself. The parts of you that once felt alone or overwhelmed can now come back into the light, with support.

So if something’s resurfacing, or if you're simply feeling the pull to reconnect, know this: you are always welcome back. Your healing space hasn’t gone anywhere. And neither has the love and care your inner child deserves.
